What DPI should I use for an inch-based print?
Use the value specified by the photo lab or printer. A 300 DPI target is common for detailed work viewed close up, while some large posters use fewer pixels per inch because people see them from farther away.
How many pixels are needed for an 8 × 10 print?
At 300 DPI, an 8 × 10 inch print requires 2400 × 3000 pixels. At 200 DPI it requires 1600 × 2000 pixels. Choose the DPI first, because the same physical dimensions can produce very different pixel targets.
Can I prepare images for frames and mats?
