Discord Profile Banner Resizer

Prepare a wide Discord profile banner from 680x240 pixels. Adjust the framing and review the image before applying it to your profile.

How to resize a Discord profile banner

Work on the profile header artwork, then confirm its final appearance in Discord.

  1. 1

    Choose wide artwork

Add a static landscape image or header design. This page starts at 680x240 pixels, matching the minimum dimensions in Discord’s checked profile guidance.

  2. 2

Frame the banner in the editor

Move the crop so the main artwork fits the wide canvas. Keep essential text away from outer edges; use padding if trimming would remove details you need.

  3. 3

    Preview and save the header

Process the banner and download the result. If your Discord account supports custom profile banners, select the file there and inspect Discord’s upload preview.

Give your Discord profile a banner with a clear focus

Adapt artwork to a wide profile header while keeping its main subject and its connection to your avatar.

01

Turn a favorite scene into a wide backdrop

A landscape can set the mood of your profile, but a narrow slice may lose the landmark or character that gives the scene meaning. A deliberate wide composition preserves that point of interest.

  • Keep the main landmark or character within the composition.
  • Let surrounding scenery establish the atmosphere.
  • Avoid depending on small details at the outer edges.

Keep the landmark or character that gives the wide backdrop its meaning.

02

Give your avatar a complementary background

The banner and avatar share the same profile identity. A busy header can compete with a detailed portrait; calmer areas and related colors give the two images a clearer visual relationship.

  • Repeat a color from the avatar in the banner.
  • Balance detailed artwork with quieter background areas.
  • Keep the overall composition useful without a precise border.

Related colors and quiet areas help the banner complement the avatar.

03

Show the part of your artwork that matters

An illustration or album design may start as a square or portrait. A wide header cannot always include every detail at a useful size, so the strongest character, texture, or motif needs priority.

  • Feature one recognizable element from the original work.
  • Keep faces and signature shapes from being cut in half.
  • Retain the full composition when its layout is essential.
The defining part of the artwork

A wide composition can emphasize one character, texture, or visual motif.

04

Mark a team event without crowding the header

A tournament or collaboration theme can connect your profile with an occasion. Several logos and a long announcement can overwhelm the narrow space; a clear emblem and shared colors communicate the theme more simply.

  • Give a team emblem a distinct place in the composition.
  • Use event colors to connect the banner with the occasion.
  • Keep any essential words brief and clear of the edges.

Discord profile banner questions

Dimensions, cropping, account features, and the boundary between a file and a profile update.

Why is the starting size 680x240 rather than 600x240?
Discord’s Custom Profiles help page checked on November 3, 2026 lists minimum dimensions of 680x240 pixels. The shared Discord Profile Banner template now uses that minimum, so its preview and selection match this page.
Is this a Discord server banner resizer?
No. This page prepares the banner image on a user profile. Server banners and invite splash artwork have separate placements and requirements. Do not use the profile banner default as a universal Discord header size.
Can every Discord account apply a custom profile banner?
Discord’s checked help page describes custom profile banner images as a Nitro feature. This tool only prepares a file; it does not change your account eligibility. Check the banner controls available in your Discord profile settings.
Does the preview show a safe area for every device?
The illustration only demonstrates the wide output shape. It does not reproduce Discord’s interface or promise a universal safe area. Keep essential details away from edges and inspect the banner in Discord’s own preview.
Which formats and size limits should I check?
The checked Discord guidance lists PNG, JPG, and animated GIF banners under 10 MB. This resizer creates static JPG, PNG, or WebP files and does not enforce that byte limit. Use a listed static format and review the file size before uploading.
Can I create an animated profile banner?
This page exports still images and does not create animated GIFs or preserve a source animation. To prepare a static version, choose a still source. Animation needs a different encoding workflow.
How can I fit a portrait into the wide banner?
Crop to fit trims the top and bottom of a tall source. Move the focal point to choose what remains, or select padding to preserve the whole portrait. Inspect the result so the face is neither clipped nor stretched.
Are my files uploaded to Discord during processing?
No. Images remain on your device while the browser resizes them. Download the finished banner and apply it yourself. The tool does not request Discord credentials or confirm that an upload will be accepted.
